Point to ponderStudents create things everyday. Why not create and share something awesome?
Also, give yourself a Technology area on a wall. I find great assistance in taking an extra minute and putting out tips and tricks for the students based on problems or lessons we have had. Students can also publish their own reminders or things for the class, from one student for example: "When you use PiCollage and run out of the 30 things, just save to the camera roll and start another with that as a background you can get 30 more!" Also, a Technology Target is great. It helped my students see that they weren't expected to master the whole area of technology at once, and gave them a smaller mastery focus. We have places we go to trouble shoot so why cant they? EX: I will be able to upload files to my Google Drive account so that I can share my creations with others. |

padletIn my room students used this for their own digital journal during a science project. They made entries for each "Carnival Booth" as they investigated. They absolutely loved the newsfeed look and the ability to add pictures and videos of what they did during the investigations. They were also were able to share with the link and create QR codes for a final presentation of their digital work.

Loopster was a bit more advanced and a lot like iMovie in the interface. If the clips and pictures werent in order they were easily moved.
Students had to learn about the "Ken Burns" effect for the pictures they used or created. If students make PicCollage images to act as slides have them use the square frame or a horizontal rectangle, vertical may give them issues on visibility. |
Tips for Video Editors:
- Students had to learn about the "Ken Burns" effect for the pictures they used or created.
- Pre-Planning the order of things for the video sequence is important. I helped my students map out the Intro-Meat-End of their story sandwich, this is a plus and easy way to integrate an ELA lesson on sequencing, intro, and conclusion. We used a sequence map.
EmazeThis is another presentation creator. I will be exploring this one on my own this year. I did have the unique opportunity with a teacher in Costa Rica who found a project website I created for an Adaptation PBL. She adapted the project and shared some of the student creations with me and has allowed me to share these with you! I can't wait to have my students try this out!
